Our longest running courses are the evening sessions which have been running in the same areas since 2001.

The following are all courses of 6-weeks and use a variety of small equipment (called 'props') to help you get the most out of your workout.

We offer courses and some drop-in sessions for our Small Group Pilates.

SMALL GROUP MAT

We have two venues: Great Eccleston and Your Pilates Space, Longridge.

We have set 6-week courses throughout the year - see here for term times.
Offering mixed ability course our teaching expertise allows to modify moves for every different body in class.  We have enough experience and knowledge to be able to do this.
We theme each course by a body part or by small equipment; I provide all the equipment you need.
We only teach small classes and we teach the body in front of us.
Our classes help people who have some form of pain or discomfort and those who wish to keep active and mobile.

PRE & POSTNATAL

What happens in a pre & postnatal class?

As we are a very select small group our session is ALL ABOUT YOU: how you are feeling generally and any specific concerns you may have.

Whatever trimester you are at, you can rest assured that you are in safe hands.  We aim to make you comfortable throughout the class, so it is important to communicate your needs and feelings to me.  The exercises are targetted to your specific trimester and we have four different workouts depending on where you are in each one.

PILATES TO THE CORE

This is a whole body approach to Pilates, and also includes specific Pelvic Floor moves

We can stand, lie or sit, use the circle, weights or rollers.

This class will help keep you mobile, reduce aches and pains and strengthen your pelvic floor.

Our small class size ensures you received corrections and adaptation or modifications as needed.

BARRE PILATES METHOD

Barre Pilates Method can be done by everybody!

Bringing a new fun full body exercise class to Your Pilates Space, the Barre Pilates Method combines Pilates principles with Ballet techniques to deliver a safe, effective, dynamic workout.

No previous dance experience required, we use our body as a weight to strengthen and sculpt long, lean muscles. Focusing on the arms, shoulders, legs and glutes as well as using your core to protect your spine and keep you moving for the full class!

A high energy class which uses flowing movements in a sequence to build towards challenging routines.  In our group classes, we use a long gondola pole to help with balance and to also challenge our co-ordination.

The Social Side of Pilates

We often set homework for you to practice and this is stored on a separate page and is password protected.   Each term we have videos, emails and other resources to help you with your practice.

We are social butterflies too, and often arrange outings, meals, and get-togethers.

Courses or Drop-in's?

We try and be as flexible as possible with our classes and courses so we offer set 6-week courses and drop-in sessions.

The Small Group evening sessions are courses.  We plan a progressive programme of exercise for each person's body and it is not appropriate that these classes are drop-ins.   During the 6-weeks you attend you are learning new skills and techniques to help improve your health and lifestyle.  Dipping in and out isn't an option.

Our Small Group Barre Pilates Method, Pilates to the Core and Pre & Postnatal classes ARE drop in.  We understand that you have a busy life, and may not be able to attend each week.  These are our most flexible classes - dip in and out when you need to.

Who we can help

We work with lots of different people, male and female, but often the common theme is that they have some sort of pain or something which means they cannot live their lives to the full.

Typically they might have:

  • Back or neck pain
  • Pelvic floor issues
  • Arthritis
  • Osteoporosis
  • General aches and pains
  • Recovering from an illness or surgery
  • Have a long-term condition which they would like help managing

One thing we do have in common is that we are all very social. We are a lively group, but we do take the teaching seriously - make no mistake  - but we have light hearted banter throughout.

Paying for the courses

We have several ways of paying for our Small Group Mat courses:

  • Standing Order - this is by far the most popular way of paying; one regular monthly amount.  This too enjoys a 10% loyalty bonus.  Spreading the course fees over the 12 months is the easiest way to pay.
  • Class Pass - this is the best value for our pay weekly classes: Female Fat Loss, Studio Circuits, Pilates to the Core, Barre Pilates Method and Pre/Postnatal classes.
  • Per Course - Full course payment is made at the start of each course.  You will receive an email towards the end of the current course informing you of the next course costs and theme.
